It wasn't very funny, and it tended to try to be too clever for its own good.

hmpf.....
anyone seen "Walk The Line" yet? I'd like to know how it actually maches up to Johnny Cash's life...not that I know much about the man in black...but somehow I doubt a big hollywood movie is what he wanted to be remembered by.

Actually, he gave the guy who directed it permission to do it.
And I doubt he is going to be remembered by a movie when he has a huge library of music out there in the world.
Haven't seen it yet, but I'll see it sometime this week.
As far as matching up to his life, it only covers a portion of it. Mainly his drug addiction, courting his wife, and discovering his voice.
The Searchers (4) - Good western, with unconventional protagonist.

Annie Hall (4) - Probably the best Woody Allen movie I have seen. Pretty goddamn funny. Detour (4) - Good noir, shitty tacked-on ending though. My Darling Clementine (4) - Good Western with solid performance by Henry Fonda. Young Frankenstein (4) - Pretty funny as well. Wilder is awesome when he goes crazy.

Walk the Line (4) - Good biopic of Johnny Cash's persuit of June Carter. Great performances, musical and otherwise. Harry Potter And the Goblet of Fire (3) - Solid retelling of the novel. Not bad, not bad. Kids are coming around. Y Tu Mama Tambien (4) - Look past the sex and see a great flick. The Big Sleep (1945) (3) - I guess I watched the wrong version. FUCK.

All About Eve (4) - Pretty good flick, good script, solid twists. Nosferatu (4) - Shnek is one creepy bastard. Body heat (4) - Pretty good new noir with great dialogue. The Believer (3) - Interesting flick about a jewish nazi. The Big Kahuna (4) - Pretty bare-bones picture, provocative.

L Humanité (1) - Jesus christ, something has to happen. Slow, boring, pointless. Dogville (2) - Terrible narration, doesn't allow the audience to make their own deductions. Innovative movie though, with minimalist sets. Brief Encounter (5) - very good meditation on a brief affair where both members know it is wrong but are helpless to stop. The Lady Eve (3) - somewhat funny, good story. Rebecca (3) - Pretty good Hitchcock movie, knowing it is a hitchcock movie makes it somewhat predictable.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith (3)-I don't know. It was alright, but kind of wishy-washy. I'll probably watch it again, since I bought it and all.

Revolver (2) - Pirated version of Guy Ritchie's newest, could be interesting, but goes over-board at times. The Descent (3) - Would be a four, but the ending was stupid. some jumpy shit though. Days of Heaven (2) - I guess I really don't like Terrance Malik. Hustle and Flow (4) - Good performance from Terrance howard, decent picture.

The Hustler (5) - Great movie. Newman is badass. Hellraiser (2) - Pretty goddamn terrible for a horror classic. Life Aquatic w/ Steve Zissou (2) - Too weird to be taken seriously, and not very funny. Collateral (4) - Good flick, beautiful, good acting, interesting plot.

Belle De Jour (3) - Interesting movie about a woman who won't have sex with her husband, but works afternoons in a whorehouse. Master and Commander (3) - Decent flick, but nothing special. Gone With the Wind (4) - fuckin epic romance choked with emotions. Closely Watched Trains (3) - Sex comedy flick takes a strange and tragic turn. Of Mice and Men (4) - Malkovich is damn good in this one. Good movie. Lords of Dogtown (3) - Some of it comes off a little cheesy, but not a bad joint.
