Went to Fury of the Fall: Meshuggah, The Haunted, God Forbid, and Mnemic instead of The Horror Pops. Have to say, it was a badass fucking show. Every band tore shit up. Meshuggah was a little redundant because their shit sounds the same, but it was cool to see it live. The lead singer is a weird dude. Doesn't headbang at all, just struts around, moving in slow motion and shit. The Haunted, and God Forbid were great as openers. It was crazy, right after the doors open, a few guys pop out of the crowd, get on the stage and tear into some speed metal. I thought it was a joke, because the show wasn't supposed to start until 9 and it was only 8:30. Crowd wasn't even ready, just watched without much rioting.
Good show, anyway. Not to mention it was free for the seagull.

I love how metal fans head bang from the waist up slowly, while punk rockers head bang from the neck up and very fast.
I don't know why either of them does this, but it's very true. If you want to know which you seeing, look at the head bangers and see where they're headbanging from.

There's a trend of what I like to call "the twirl" headbanging, where the dude just crouches down, then rotates the head in a roundabout way, making a helicopter type deal with the long hair. It works, and looks pretty badass as well.
